A lot of life has happened in the last few years, but praise God for his faithfulness, and I am excited about the future.
I completed my doctoral program (HollaPraise!) and became a Ph.D. in physics.
I moved back to the east coast and began a position as a postdoc in nuclear and particle astrophysics, and am now nearing the end of that training as well.
I attended, and then joined, a local church in my new city, and have enjoyed both fellowship and friendship in the past few years.
I have accepted a new job (HollaPraise!) as a tenure track faculty member at a major research university, where by the help of the Lord I will begin my new position in summer of 2020. While I will be moving again, I look forward to what the Lord has done and am extremely excited for the opportunity to start my own lab.
I am super grateful for the preservation of my family over the last few years as well. We have much to be thankful for and to celebrate - graduations, matriculations, reunions, recoveries from illness, laughter, joy, and promotion. We also face the sin and the challenges and heartaches and day-to-day struggles that come from living in a fallen world, and I do not overlook that. Because I write so rarely, and because of the reaction of my own heart, I generally use this blog as a chance to update people on the highlights and to archive and remember the "Ebeneezers" - the things that I tend to take as encouraging reminders of God's good faithfulness. Perhaps the time will come when more struggles are documented as well. There are many who do this well already, and many who do so even as they give a reason for the hope that lies within them. But in the meantime, I include this disclaimer only to say that my intent is not to "front" or hide the flaws that come with life. Rather, it's to take this time to smile and say hello and share a bright spot in our day.

P.S. Does anyone else remember this book?? I was thinking of this today - it was one of my brother's favorites, and really one of all of the siblings' favorites, when we were younger and read with our parents. Fun times.
